Serendipity Catering is excited to welcome Chef Drew Schreiner to our team. Chef Drew comes to us from McCalls and Associates, one of San Francisco’s biggest and best caterers.  Drew is an Illinois native and a graduate of The Culinary Arts School at Kendall College in Evanston, where he earned superior marks.  He has studied with acclaimed four-star chef Paul Bartolotta in Chicago and worked in kitchens from England to Melbourne, Australia, where he acquired his love for Asian cuisine.  Drew loves to teach intimate cooking classes and he also likes the fast pace of large-scale events.  He is well-versed in world cuisine, highly skilled in technique, and supremely creative.

 

We asked Chef Drew a few questions to get to know him better.

 

What do you like most about cooking?

Being able to create meals out of nothing and sharing them with friends is what I like most.

 

What are some of the most memorable events from your experience with McCalls in San Francisco?


The Black and White Ball, the Oracle convention, Vice President Joe Biden’s dinner and most City Hall and Symphony events.

 

If you could cook for anyone who would it be and why?

President Obama.  I grew up in Chicago, so I’d be proud to show a fellow Chicagoan and American what I’ve learned from traveling and learning different cuisines and cultures.
